    Echinacea
    (Echinacea purpurea)

    Echinacea (Echinacea spp.) species are native to North America and first archeological evidence of use dates to the 18th century. Also known as the “purple cone flower”, Echinacea was used extensively by Native American cultures. Later, settlers followed the Indians’ example and began using Echinacea for health-promoting and immune supportive purposes as well. The most researched constituents are polysaccharides, echinacoside, cichoric acid, ketoalkenes and alkylamides, as well as the vitamins and minerals Beta-carotene, Vitamin C & E, calcium, and chromium.†

    (Astragalus spp.)

    For over 5,000 years Astragalus (Astragalus spp.), native to Mongolia and China, is one of oldest plants used traditionally in Chinese herbalism. Astragalus is typically grown under high atmospheric pressure at extreme altitudes and conditions. This adaptogenic herb is generally used to enhance and balance bodily functions and contains a wide array of constituents including more than 40 saponins, several flavonoids and multiple trace minerals.†

    Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe), indigenous to Southern China, ginger is the world’s most widely-cultivated spice.
